What are the different types of jailbreaks?
The are 3 types of jailbreaks: tethered, semi tethered, and untethered. Tethered means when you restart your device you will have to plug it back into a computer to reboot it. Untethered means, you can reboot your device, normally, without plugging it back into a computer. Semi tethered allows you to reboot, but some apps might not work.

Jailbreaking is completely free. You should never pay for a jailbreak.
Will Jailbreaking Prevent Me from Updating iOS?
Well yes and no. Every time Apple distributes a newer version of iOS, you will have the option of upgrading. But bear in mind jailbreaks do not come about the minute a new version becomes available to the public. It takes time for devs to create jailbreaks. So the best possible way, is to not upgrade your iOS unless you know a jailbreak is available for your iOS version.
